The Case Against Human Colonization of Mars or Why we need Research Outposts and not Colonies.

Using Martian Planetary Hydrological data from NASA and cross referencing it with DEMs (terrain models), I was able to create maps that show how the Martian landscape changed over 4.3 billion years, including the disappearance of surface water. The final product was a video that demystified the martian geography.

Below are some of the maps developed as part of the project.

News curation for an online tech magazine and subsequently exposure to a slew of Mapping and Machine Learning projects through my program at Harvard GSD led me to pursue the understanding of the subject.

The Mars + ML project, a work in progress, is an apposition of my interest in weather assessment, maps, deep space exploration, machine learning and renaissance paintings. Primarily, it serves as an exercise in building and training a GAN, that also complements my other ml learning efforts through Coursera.

More coming soon.
